The Recommended add-ons card installs a short list of popular plugins and mods with one click. It sits at the top of the Mod Installer on Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge servers, and at the top of the Plugin Installer on Paper and other plugin servers. It picks the build that fits your server's loader and Minecraft version for you.
Install an add-on
- Open your server, choose Software, then Mod Installer or Plugin Installer.
- Find the add-on on the Recommended add-ons card and press Install.
- Read the confirmation. It names what will be downloaded and any library the add-on needs. Press Install.
- The card marks the add-on Installed. Restart the server to load it.
Each add-on is downloaded from its author's own release on Modrinth. If it needs a library, such as Fabric API, the library is added in the same step unless it is already in your mods folder.
Only the server owner can install from the card. Subusers can see it but not use it.

| Carpet | Technical tools for redstone and farm builders | Fabric and Quilt |
Add-ons that don't fit your server are listed under Not available for this server, each with the reason. Vanilla and Bedrock servers don't get the card, because they can't load mods or plugins. To use the shelf on a vanilla server, switch it to Paper for plugins, or to Fabric, Forge or NeoForge for mods, in Version Changer first.
Notes for specific add-ons
- LuckPerms has an Open permissions editor button. With the server running, it runs
lp editorin the console and shows the link LuckPerms prints. The editor opens on luckperms.net, LuckPerms' own site, and your permission data is uploaded there for the editing session. - Simple Voice Chat: every player also needs Simple Voice Chat installed in their own game.
- DiscordSRV needs a Discord bot token in
plugins/DiscordSRV/config.ymlbefore it connects. If you only want start, stop, crash and backup notices in Discord, the panel can post those without a plugin: see Discord alerts for your server. - NuVotifier on Paper isn't on the shelf, because it is published on SpigotMC and GitHub, which the panel doesn't install from. Upload its jar to the
pluginsfolder in the File Manager instead. Then test it with the Votifier Tester: see Set up Votifier for voting sites. - Block history keeps a database in your server folder that grows over time, and it counts toward your storage.
If an install is refused
- "looks installed already": a jar for the same add-on is already in your mods or plugins folder, often because your modpack ships it. Remove that file first if you want the shelf's version.
- "is already installed on this server": the panel installed it before. Nothing more to do.
- A warning that the newest build doesn't list your Minecraft version: plugins usually still load. Check the console after the restart.
- "Start the server first": the LuckPerms editor button needs the server running.
To remove an add-on later, use the installed list in the same installer page. See Add or remove a mod or plugin.
