Your server's address is at the top of its page in the panel. Click it to copy it. Java Edition players paste that address into Minecraft's multiplayer screen. Bedrock Edition players enter the address and the port as two separate values.
Find your address
Open Servers and choose your server. The address sits at the top of the page, next to the power buttons, and stays there on every page of the server panel. The Servers list shows it too.
- DNS is your subdomain, if you have one, such as
yourname.minexhost.com. Sometimes it is shown with a port on the end. Use it exactly as shown. - IP is the server's IP address and port, such as
203.0.113.10:25570. It always works while the server is running.
Click either line to copy it. A dot next to the DNS line shows whether the name is working. Point at it for the details. If the name stops reaching your server, its line says not connecting and tells you to use the IP address until it is fixed.
When to use the name, the port, or a Dedicated IP is explained in Your server address, subdomains and custom domains.
Join from Java Edition (PC and Mac)
- Start Minecraft Java Edition with the same game version as your server. For a modpack, start the same modpack and version in your launcher.
- Choose Multiplayer, then Add Server.
- Type any name you like, and paste your address into the Server Address box.
- Choose Done, then select the server and join.
Join from Bedrock Edition
Bedrock connects by IP address and port only. Its protocol carries no hostname, so a Bedrock server has no subdomain. On a Bedrock server, the top of the page shows IP and PORT as two lines.
- Open Minecraft, choose Play, then the Servers tab.
- Scroll down and choose Add Server.
- Put the IP address in the address box and the port in the Port box. On the shared IP your server has its own port, not the default 19132, so type the port the panel shows. With a Dedicated IP you can leave the port on 19132.
- Save, then join.
A dot next to the Bedrock port reads Port reachable, Port not answering or Port unconfirmed. "Port unconfirmed" while the server is starting is normal. Re-check in a moment.
On Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, Minecraft's Servers tab lists only featured servers and has no Add Server button, so console players can't type in a server address directly. Phones, tablets and Windows can. More on Bedrock servers is in Bedrock Edition servers and crossplay.
Can't connect? Check these first
- The server isn't running yet. The status next to the server name must say Running. Large modpacks can take several minutes to install and start. If it says Crashed, see My modpack won't start.
- Your game version doesn't match. If Minecraft says the client or the server is outdated, start the game version your server runs. The loader and version are shown next to the server's name at the top of its page.
- You don't have the modpack installed. A modded server only accepts players who run the same modpack, at the same version. For a server you built from separate mods, the Client pack for players card in the Mod Installer builds a pack your players can import into a launcher such as the Modrinth App.
- Wrong address or edition. Copy the address again from the panel. Java and Bedrock players can't join each other's servers.
- The server is full. Raise Max players in Server Properties.
- You were blocked by our protection. If the disconnect screen says "Blocked by MineXHost protection", see My IP is blocked.
If none of these fit, open a ticket with your server's name, the exact message Minecraft shows, whether you used the DNS or IP address, and your game version.
